Coffee with the Dustmen: A Life Story of Sir John Verney,Bt.by Guy J. Singer
The creator of something so revolutionary and life changing as the Dodo Pad must be very special! Hard as it is to believe, the Dodo Pad is only one of Sir John Verney’s many achievements.
Guy Singer, a resident of Farnham in Surrey- as was John - and a local historian, spent most of the 2020 lockdowns researching and writing this fascinating new book.
Guy says: “As a youngster (in the late 1960s) Father Christmas gave me a Dodo Pad every year as one of his presents. In the late 1970s when I was in my twenties sadly he stopped - I was a very late believer in my bearded benefactor. When last year I discovered the invaluable diary had been designed by John Verney, I was honoured and delighted to have the chance of writing his biography. From war hero, illustrator, artist, author and conservationist to a local councillor and devoted family man John's contribution to local Farnham life is frequently understated. 'Coffee with the Dustmen' is my way of repaying John's contribution to my own youth and to society through the decades. Researching the book was a delight, finding another facet of this fascinating man's work around every corner.”
At Dodo Towers we are very pleased to be able to offer all DodoPadlers the chance to read the only full length biography written of this extraordinary man.
Offered at a special saving, only for DodoPadlers.
